Position overview:
The Engineer Design Manager for WDM reports to the Director of Engineering for WDM. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Products
- Development of tool set for new parts
- Improvement of tool sets for existing parts
- Resolution of tool replated production and quality issues
- Processes
- Develop of new processes to facilitate introduction of additional product families.
- Assessment and selection of new equipment
- Design and implementation of machine modifications
The ideal candidate will have extensive tool design experience and significant exposure to fastener manufacturing processes and equipment. Further, the candidate must have a good blend of manufacturing, problem solving, failure analysis, technical, and interpersonal skills to ensure product shipped conforms to specifications and is provided cost effectively.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing.
- Minimum 10 years’ fastener tool design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or material sciences.
- Inspection, Metrology, Metallurgical Analysis Interpretation.
- GD&T, Print Review, Understanding and interpretation of engineering specifications (IFI, ASME, etc). Fastener experience highly preferred.
- Lean and Six Sigma experience
